Fluke Update & Other Momentous Events:

I have my fluke and have been playing it for about 2 weeks and I have to say that it is a dream come true: it's easy to play, the sound is everything I could ask for, plus of course the cool flame motif.

I am practicing every day, and my improvement, though slow, is steady. In fact, I just started putting accompaniment to songs I have written, very fun. Also, I picked up this book on musical theory and chord-building for the ukulele, which after the first few pages is giving me a lot of good insight.

In other news:

  • Bought a DVD on hip-hop and am learning how to get down.
  • This morning I developed a twitch in the muscles beneath my left eye. Hope it does not indicate stroke or aneurism or anything...
  • Watched the entire 1st season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the 1st seaon of Angel over the weekend. This could be an alternate explanation of the eye twitch.
  • Attempted to talk to a guy on Friday and realized I don't know how.

Eye is twitching again, gotta go.

This post says November 1st, but it didn't show up on my computer until this morning. Anyway, I've been getting eye twitches for years. They'll come on and off for a week or two, usually at times of very high stress, then go away for months or a year or more. What happened when you tried to talk to the guy? I need more details here!

1. I developed a similar Buffy-related twitch earlier this year. Take two seasons of The Office and call me in the morning.

2. So glad to hear that the fluke is not one! I hope I get to hear your songs and accompaniment someday.

3. Hip-hop? You are way cool.

4. Yeah, tell us more about the guy.

Does the post really say nov. 9? Because I posted it on the 9th, how absolutely wierd...

I'm glad to hear that my eye-twitch is not the harbinger of some dreadful disease. Though a dreadful disease always makes for a good read.

The-Artist-Formerly-Known-as-the-Archivist, I would love to play my fluke for you! When will you be in town next? Or perhaps I could come visit and play some songs for an eastcoast crowd.

He works at the EG (poor guy!) Jen says he is nice. He has dark hair and dresses nattily and can do this sexy thing with his eyebrow. Other than that I really know nothing about him since we were at this really dark bar with loud music that made conversation kinda pointless. I guess there's not a lot of sordid details to be told, except for having two feelings about it afterwards: first, that I was hopelessly gauche and obvious, and he was not interested at all; and second, that I was so shy and retiring that I never hit his radar as being attracted to him. I have no clue at all what he thought. And I'm embarrassed to ask Jen because I had a couple of drinks that night and am not sure if I was acting like a drunken dope.

Wishing I could edit that comment--the first sentence should read:

Does the post really say nov. 1?
